Welcoming the announcement on behalf of the Renewed Ambition Taskforce that KPMG, one of the world’s top professional services firms, is investing £14million in its Northern Ireland operation and will create 200 new jobs, Joe O’Neill, Taskforce Chair and Chief Executive of Belfast Harbour, said:
“KPMG’s announcement of 200 new jobs as part of an investment of £14million to develop a new Centre of Excellence is welcome news not just for Belfast and the capital’s economy, but also for Northern Ireland plc.
“It emphasises the continued opportunity that is being recognised by the private sector especially in the city’s financial, cyber, digital and innovation industries.
“By effectively doubling its workforce, KPMG is sending out a strong and clear message that Belfast is an ideal location for investment that provides a unique opportunity in a post-Brexit world through access to both the UK and EU markets.”
Renewed Ambition – a joint public and private sector led initiative – aims to shape how the future of Belfast is reimagined and how partners can act together to deliver it in the months and years ahead.
Joe continued: “We will continue to build on what has already been achieved to maintain our competitiveness and attractiveness, ensuring occupiers and investors understand the Belfast investment opportunity, something that I am delighted to see that KPMG has recognised.”
